The Reno-Tahoe International Airport saw a 10% increase in overall passenger traffic this summer compared to last year.
RNO says it experienced its busiest summer in 19 years, marking a significant milestone in northern Nevada’s growing air travel demand.
This summer, RNO saw a 12% increase in June, 8% increase in July and 9% increase in August.
In addition, RNO says Aug. 25, 2024 and Sep. 2, 2024 were the single busiest days in 19 years, with about 20,000 passengers passing through the airport each day.
RNO expects continued growth into the fall season, with a 9% increase in available seats compared to the same time last year.
If that trend continues, RNO could handle a projected 4.8 million passengers by the end of 2024 in comparison to 2023’s total of 4.6 million passengers.
