A student at Peavine Elementary School got to see the wrap she designed on an RTC bus Tuesday.
The Regional Transportation Commission revealed 3rd grader Yunqing Zhang as the winner of the first-ever student designed bus wrapping.
Her design about pedestrian safety and avoiding distracted driving won the grand prize - and two other students will also have their submissions printed on an RTC bus for a year.
"We decided to hold a pedestrians safety poster contest to bring pedestrian and bike safety awareness to our community. We had 21 student crashes last year so we wanted to make sure that our students were aware that pedestrian safety is important in our community,” says Jennifer Iveson, Coordinator for Safe Routes to School.
All three student winners also received an iPad and a bicycle.
