Washoe County School District

Two Washoe County schools were placed under secured campus status Thursday following separate disturbances, according to school police, with one campus later returning to normal operations while the other remained secured for a short time later.

At Echo Loder Elementary School, officials initiated a secured campus at 12:00 p.m. due to a disturbance in the area. School police said the campus resumed normal operations at 12:25 p.m., with no further updates provided.

At Innovations High School, a secured campus was put in place at 12:20 p.m. due to a disturbance at the school. As of the latest update at 12:56 p.m., the campus resumed normal operations and school police said there is no additional information at this time.
