Update, June 30:
Sam's Club and the Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Foundation held a car show to raise money and awareness for children with cancer.
Tiffany Kress, the marketing and development manager with NNCCF, said the community was a big help.
"You know one thing I always say about NNCCF is the only reason that we're able to do what we do is because of this amazing Northern Nevada community and I think this is a huge showing of that," said Kress.
Katie Histing, a local business owner who was also diagnosed with cancer, said it's important to remember older kids who get cancer as well.
"I think it's really important that people know that kids get cancer too and even though I'm like an older kid now since I was diagnosed you know as like a late teen, yeah we still get cancer too unfortunately," said Katie Histing, owner of Katie's Collective.
