A local woman fell victim to a smash and grab robbery Monday night in South Reno.
She said that after she left a movie theater, she was shocked to find broken glass around her car.
Once she realized that her car got broken into and her belongings were stolen, she immediately called the police.
"So I just called 9-1-1 right away and they said they couldn't send anybody out so I had to do a report online, so then I saw security and went up to him to ask if he saw anything, so he came over and he did a report," said Dena Palmer.
To help prevent this from happening to you, Nationwide insurance suggests that you park near other people, stay in a well-lit area, and store items in your trunk if you can.
We did reach out to Reno police about this, but have not heard back yet.
