The Nevada Department of Transportation is reminding drivers of upcoming lane shifts along southbound U.S. 395 in North Valleys beginning today, April 7th.

From 7:00 p.m. tonight through early May, lanes in the North McCarran Boulevard area will be divided from north of Clear Acre Lane to north McCarran Boulevard to accommodate construction in the roadway median.

These southbound lanes will loosely form a football shape while crews excavate and pave in the center of the lanes. Both lanes will join together again near North McCarran Boulevard.

Speeds are reduced to 55 mph 24/7 through the work zone. Motorists are advised to stay in their lane through the work zone, drive attentively and follow work zone speed limits.

Additional overnight lane closures continue, with highway lanes reduced to a minimum of one lane in each direction; northbound U.S. 395 lanes reduced between 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 a.m., Southbound U.S. 395 lanes reduced between 7:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.

Intermittent ramp closures will take place between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Sunday evenings through Saturday mornings. Detour routes will be marked. Virginia Street on-ramp to southbound U.S. 395 in Panther Valley and North McCarran Boulevard on-ramp to northbound U.S. 395 remain closed.

Construction schedule is weather permitting and subject to change.

With major construction scheduled to take place through early 2026, NDOT is encouraging drivers to sign up for traffic alerts -- by texting “NorthValleys” to 866-540-8466 to sign up for construction text alerts, contacting the project hotline at (775) 636-4202 and visiting 395NorthValleys.com for project information and updates.
