Update, July 17:
A suspect in a shooting in Palomino Valley has been charged with murder after the victim died from his injuries.
Washoe County Sheriff’s Office detectives have charged Jimmy Lellan Shores, 81, of Reno, with murder in the shooting death of 46-year-old Ingra Souza, the Sheriff's Office said in a post on X.
On July 9 around 9:45 a.m., deputies responded to a home on Microwave Drive in the Palomino Valley area for a reported shooting.
When they arrived they found Souza with a gunshot wound and he was taken to the hospital where he died on July 14.
Shores was initially booked on charges of battery with the use of a deadly weapon resulting in substantial bodily harm and discharging a firearm in a prohibited area.
Deputies also found that Shores lived in the same home as the victim and that there were no outstanding suspects.
Following the death of Souza the Sheriff's Office charged Shores with murder with the use of a deadly weapon.

The Washoe County Sheriff's Office has released the identity of the suspect they arrested in connection with Tuesday's shooting.
Sheriff's confirm that 81-year-old Jimmy Shores was arrested on charges of Battery with the use of a deadly weapon and discharging a gun in a building or vehicle in a prohibited area.Â
This is an open investigation and details that lead up to the shooting are still unknown.

A person is in jail, after a shooting that occurred at an unknown location in Palomino Valley, July 9.Â
The Washoe County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) said in a statement that the shooting occurred mid-morning on Tuesday.Â
Police say one person was shot, their condition is unknown at this time.
WCSO says there is no threat to the public.Â
