Tesla has voluntarily recalled all Cybertrucks made between November 13, 2023, and April 4, 2024.
According to the National Highway Traffic Association, the recall is due to potentially faulty accelerator pedals. The pedals may become dislodged and stuck in the trim above it when high force is applied.
This can increase the risk of collision, although Tesla is not aware of any collisions, injuries or deaths due to the faulty part as of this time.
The National Highway Traffic Association also say Tesla began using soap as lubricant when assembling the accelerator pedal, which reduces the retention of the pad to the pedal.
The first complaint Tesla received was in March 2024. After a second complaint in April, Tesla ran tests to confirm the issue and issued the recall.
Customers will be able to get their accelerator pedals replaced or fixed free of charge.
