The Nevada Kids Foundation's 3rd annual "Making Spirits Brighter" Holiday Donation Drive has begun.
The drive runs through Friday, December 15th.
Donations of new or never-been-used items can be dropped off at the Nevada Kids Foundation storage facility at 400 Sunset Springs Lane in Sparks or their main drop off location at  1755 E. Plumb Lane #251 in Reno.
The organization hopes to collect enough physical and monetary donations this year to provide Christmas care packages to more than 1,000 children across the region.
The care packages will include not only toys but essential items such as bedding, clothing & toiletries as well.Â
The foundation is looking for donations of diapers, formula, wipes, warm clothing including shoes and socks, bed-in-a-bag and pillows including sets for full and twin beds, toys, games, books, art and school supplies, toiletries, transportation passes, gift cards and monetary donations.
All donations should be given with their tags still on and unwrapped.
This year people have the option to personally shop for their donations and drop off to one of many collection bins, like ones at every Bully’s Sports Bar & Grill. They can also adopt a child virtually through the foundation's online platform at this link.
Another way people can help is at the foundation's second annual "Sip and Shop" event.
That event will happen on Sunday, December 3rd from noon to 3 p.m. at Engine & Urban Winery.
Tickets for the "Sip and Shop" event, as well as the foundation's virtual giving tree, can be found at this link.
