For the first time in its 105-year history, the Reno Rodeo has a female president.
Carrie Ann Sattler is running the show this year after being voted in three years ago.
One of her coworkers has seen her dedication over the years and believes that she is very deserving of this important position.
"She has put her life into this for the past 20 years that she has been involved with the Reno Rodeo. The day she turned 18, she signed up to become a wrangler because her parents were volunteers and wranglers and helped with the rodeo, and she was here before she was 18," said George Combs, general manager for the Reno Rodeo.
Over the years, Carrie Ann Sattler has been a part of many different committees that help run the rodeo.
Her peers say that she has helped elevate the fan experience this year by coming up with the Doc Bar Speakeasy and the indoor experience at the Livestock Events Center.
Carrie Ann says that every day of this rodeo has been a learning experience, and that so far, it has been a blast.
She says she's humbled to be in this position, and she hopes to empower others to work hard to achieve their goals.
"Ultimately as the first female president, I hope I leave a legacy of respect for those that have come before me in our organization. I hope I've held this position in a way that you know feels deeply honored and frankly I hope all of my peers walk away from this knowing she was deeply deserving of that position because of the work that she did," said Carrie Ann Sattler, the Reno Rodeo 2024 President.
With six days left of the rodeo, Carrie Ann says she is looking to continue giving the fans the best experience possible.
