The American Veterans run the Veterans Healing Camp where vets can go to find resources.

The group says they help vets with anything they need and they're currently working on a new community garden that would feed veterans in our area.

The camp is located off of Highway 50 and Alternate Highway 95 in Silver Springs.

For veterans dealing with issues that come along with serving in the military, the veterans healing camp says that they'd like to partner with as many veteran services as possible to create a supportive and safe community.

"This is a necessity that we need in our area, and we need to let the vets know and the public that this place is here, and it needs to be utilized so we can protect our veterans and get them off the street and get them the help that they need," says Camp Coordinator, Nonie Higley.

Am-Vets says that this garden will provide veterans with healthier food options and that they would be able to come pick the food themselves.

This garden isn't the only project that they have going.

Am-Vets and the Veterans Healing Camp say that they will help veterans with absolutely anything that they may need.

"This is important because people are reaching out. They have the programs to help the veterans help themselves to walk with pride," says Post Commander D.E. Cabral.

The Veterans Healing Camp is currently looking for volunteers to help with the garden.Â
