Washoe County District Attorney Chris Hicks says a Nevada State Police trooper was justified in shooting a man in Washoe Valley in 2021.
The incident happened November 24th as multiple 911 calls reported of multiple hit-and-run crashes near Bellevue Road.
When officers approached Nathaniel Bailey, the DA says they could smell alcohol on him, while he kept telling officers that they needed to speak to his attorney.
That's when they say he charged at the trooper and she tazed him twice to no effect, and then she pulled out her gun and shot him four times.
Bailey was later found guilty and sentenced to four years in the Nevada Department of Corrections, with eligibility for parole after serving 19 months.

ORIGINAL STORY:
Crews responded to an officer-involved shooting on US-395A near Parker Ranch Road in Washoe County.
The shooting was reported around 2:00 p.m. as multiple 911 calls reported of multiple hit-and-run crashes in the 580 area in Bellevue.
A state trooper would later encounter the subject who has not been identified and shots were fired.
The subject was injured in the shooting and was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
Right now I can confirm a Trooper was involved in an incident and is not injured”, Nevada State Police Trooper Charles Caster said.
Parker Ranch Road at US-395A was closed for multiple hours but has since reopened.
