Washoe County deputies are warning of a scam claiming residents have tax debt.
Deputies say the scammers use a convincing letter that says you have failed to pay a tax debt and that the "Federal Tax Authorities' Office" is threatening to foreclose on your property if you don't pay them.
If you receive anything like this, report it to the Washoe County Sheriff's Office by calling the non-emergency line at (775) 785-WCSO (9276).
