The Washoe County District Attorney's Office says a woman was sentenced to life in prison after she killed her husband in January 2022. 

50-year-old Karri Walters will be eligible for parole after 16 years.

Prosecutors say she pleaded guilty to second degree murder in April. 

Authorities say while interviewing neighbors, Washoe County Sheriff’s deputies learned that the couple had been abusing alcohol for years and that they had a history of arguments and law enforcement being called.
