Fifty investigators are examining a fire at a Canadian military base that killed four soldiers and injured 39 others. Prime Minister Mark Carney said Monday that the investigation is led by the Canadian Forces National Investigation Service, with support from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The fire occurred Saturday at Canadian Forces Base Wainwright in Alberta. Nineteen of the injured are in critical condition. Maj. Gen. Wade Rutland said military officials knew about the fire but believed it was contained. The fire overtook soldiers conducting live-fire training. Investigators are examining whether military safety procedures need to change.
