Russia and Ukraine have begun a localized ceasefire in a southern Ukrainian city to allow a humanitarian mission. The truce, brokered by U.S. first lady Melania Trump, aims to allow the delivery of aid later this week to the city of Oleshky, where supplies have run dangerously low. Despite the ceasefire, Russia continues missile attacks on other cities. Meanwhile, Finland’s president and Norway’s prime minister spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin and later with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The Nordic leaders described their talks with Putin as “frank and substantive.” The ceasefire is expected to last through Saturday, but its success remains uncertain.
