Trump and Charles greet each other warmly and meet in Oval Office on a day of diplomacy for the king
President Donald Trump and King Charles III have huddled in the Oval Office for a meeting that was closed to the public. Trump says Tuesday's meeting with Charles was “really good” and calls Charles a “fantastic person.” Charles' visit is designed to emphasize a bond between the United Kingdom and the United States that's so strong it can withstand political turmoil. Trump welcomed Charles and Queen Camilla to the White House on Tuesday in a South Lawn ceremony under gray, drizzly skies, quipping it was a “beautiful British day.” Charles also will address Congress. Charles and Camilla will continue their U.S. trip with stops in New York City and Virginia.
