No Decision Made in Filing to Drop Animal Abuse Charges

The couple accused of animal abuse at their pet stores appeared in Reno court on Tuesday.

A judge heard arguments after the lawyers for Michael Schneider and Leilani Tau-Schneider filed a writ of habeas corpus to have charges against the two dropped.

Both face charges of practicing veterinary medicine without a license.

Tau-Schneider also faces a felony charge for the death of a puppy.

No decision on the filing was made Tuesday.

The Schneiders still face trial in May of next year if the charges aren't dropped.
