Peppermill Halloween Bash Benefits Local School

The Peppermill is hosting the annual Halloween Bash at the Game Lab Arcade this Friday night. Proceeds benefit Anderson Elementary School.

"We work with our partners at Anderson Elementary, which is just a few blocks to the west of us," said Stephen Ascuaga, Corporate Director of Business Development for the Peppermill. "Basically, you come in in costume - big kids, little kids, kids at heart - and for $10 you get a $25 arcade card to play any of the games you wish, and there's candy for the kids. It's a fun way to send all the proceeds to Anderson Elementary that they can use for programs all year long."

The deal runs Friday, October 25th from 6p.m. to 9p.m. Costumes are encouraged and there will be plenty of candy.

"Last year we were packed," Ascuaga said. "We run for three hours and we were able to generate just over $3,000, so it's a good way of making them some money and letting them have a good time."

The Peppermill supports Anderson Elementary year-round.

"They're in our neighborhood; we have a great relationship with their principal and their staff," Ascuaga said. "A lot of our employees have kids there and it's a great way of reaching out to kids in the neighborhood. We're part of the community, so it's been a win-win.  We work with them throughout the year but this is one of our more fun events that everybody can participate in."

Game Lab, the Peppermill's arcade, has a lot of the newer gaming options - but there's a bit of nostalgia there as well.

"We have Retro Row with some of the classics like Frogger and Donkey Kong," Ascuaga said. "We have old pinball machines, and then all the new games, it's just a lot of fun."
