Governor Sandoval's Office reports the State of Nevada has filed a lawsuit challenging a Federal Government plan to ship weapons grade plutonium to the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS).
The Department of Energy has disclosed that it already has shipped one-half metric ton of weapons-grade plutonium to a nuclear security site in Nevada that the state has been trying to block in a federal court battle.
Nevada wants a federal appeals court to order the U.S. government to remove weapons-grade plutonium the Department of Energy secretly trucked to a site near Las Vegas until the court decides whether the clandestine move was illegal.Â
