UPDATE: The Reno Police Department has released new details on a stabbing that happened at a Chevron gas station at Wells Avenue and Sixth Street on Monday evening.
They said a suspect approached a woman pumping gas and demanded her vehicle. The suspect threatened the victim with a knife and as she backed away, the suspect stole items from her car. The suspect started walking toward the victim who was yelling for help, but a good Samaritan confront the armed suspect and tackled him to the ground.
A struggle ensued and the good Samaritan was stabbed. More members of the public intervened and held the suspect until police arrived on scene.
The victim of the stabbing was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Reno Police said they arrested 38-year-old Joshua Etter.
He was charged with robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, battery with a deadly weapon and resisting an officer.

They said a male suspect was attempting to steal a car at the Chevron gas station at Wells and Sixth when a passerby tried to help.
That person was stabbed and was transported to the hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.
Reno Police have the suspect in custody and are speaking with witnesses, including the owner of the car the suspect tried to steal.
