Police and OSHA are investigating an accident that killed a man on a south Reno construction site early Wednesday morning.
Authorities tell us a rock hauler semi-truck ran over the man on the construction site, located off of Carat Drive and Veterans Parkway around 9 a.m.
Police say it's important for construction workers and drivers to pay attention to their surrounding.
"Whether you're on a construction zone or walking on the street watch your area. If you're wearing headphones look out for vehicles that are moving because you might not hear them coming up behind you. Check left, check right and check left again before you are crossing any street, and just take your time and slow down,” says Officer Tim Broadway, Reno Police Department.
Officers turned over the investigation of the incident to the Office of Occupational Safety and Health Administration to determine the cause of the accident. Anyone with any information about this accident is asked to contact the Reno Office of OSHA at (775) 688-3700.
