Sixteen mail boxes in one neighborhood unit was stolen, per the United States Postal Inspection Service (USPIS).
Officials say the unit was on 720 River Ranch Road, Tuscarora, Nevada.
Trevor Hudson, Postal Inspector tells us USPS was notified on September 24th.
The post office put in a request to replace the box, in the meantime residents can go to the post office to receive their mail.
Residents affected should have already been notified however, USPS advises residents to be vigilant and check their bank accounts for fraud.
They add if you're checking your mail every day, then you should be in the clear.
The United States Postal Inspection Service is investigating the situation.
There's no suspect information at this time.
They say this is a federal crime and if convicted the sentence can be up to two years in prison.
