Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaidó is getting his long-sought meeting with President Trump.
The White House says the leaders will meet Wednesday in the Oval Office.
Guaidó was a surprise guest at Trump's State of the Union speech Tuesday night.
Guiado received a standing ovation from both sides of the aisle.
When Trump welcomed him, he called Guaidó the "true and legitimate president of Venezuela."
Last year, Guaidó declared the rule of embattled President Nicolas Maduro illegitimate, and declared himself interim president.
During his speech, Trump told Guaidó that all Americans are united with the Venezuelan people in their righteous struggle for freedom.
The U.S. and nearly 60 other governments say the 2018 election of President Nicolas Maduro was flawed.
These governments say Guaidó, who leads the country's National Assembly, should be named interim president under Venezuela's constitution.
Maduro remains in control despite efforts to force him from office.
The Trump administration was the first among a coalition of governments to recognize Guaidó as president.
