Wilbur Hit & Run Accident Suspect Turns Self in to Reno Police

Myree Townsend

The Washoe County District Attorney's office says the woman who turned herself in for a hit and run accident in May plans to plead guilty next month.

In return for pleading guilty to felony hit and run causing substantial bodily harm, the DA's office says Myree Townsend will not face jail time, and instead be sentenced to probation and be required to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in restitution.

Police say Townsend hit 24-year-old Gabriel Kennedy back on May 8th on Wilbur May Parkway in south Reno causing brain damage, a collapsed lung and his right leg to be amputated.

The DA's office says Kennedy's family supports the plea deal.
