Reno Land Inc. says it is planning to demolish the Lakeridge Tennis Club and build a 350-unit senior community complex.

The company says it put the property into escrow about a year ago and has been assessing its viability ever since. The tennis club has been struggling financially, and the recent shutdowns due to the worldwide pandemic have put the club "in financial crisis," according to Reno Land Inc. CEO Chip Bowlby.

It submitted a site plan development permit last week asking for a zoning change.

As of now Reno Land Inc. wants to demolish the building sometime in the first quarter of 2021.

The tennis club was built in the 1970s, and includes a gym and dining.
