UPDATE, June 2021:

A federal jury convicted a Reno man for voluntary manslaughter on tribal land.

51-year-old Steven Bryan shot and killed his son with an AR-15 style rifle on or about December 13, 2019 on the Carson Indian Colony, according to court documents.

He was found guilty of one count of voluntary manslaughter.

He faces a statutory maximum sentence of 15 years imprisonment.

He is scheduled for sentencing on September 21, 2021.


UPDATE, December 2019: The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner's Office says a man who was shot near Boyle Street in Carson City last Friday was identified.

They said 23-year-old Kyle Bryan of Carson City was pronounced dead on scene.


Original Story: The Carson City Sheriff's Office (CCSO) says on Friday around 3 a.m. they received information about a possible shooting.

They say they responded to an address on Boyle Street and when they arrived they found a deceased person with a gunshot wound.

CCSO says when tribal authorities arrived on scene they took over the investigation.
