A fast moving brush fire broke out overnight near 4th Street along the railroad tracks in west Reno.

Fire crews say the fire started around midnight by sparks from a train on a track and then spread up to 1.5 acres towards the Truckee River with embers flying into the neighborhood across the river by Ambrose Park where one of the engines responded to protect the neighborhood.

A total of seven engines responded total with two water tenders from Reno Fire Department and aid from Truckee Meadows Fire.

The fire was contained and put out.

No injuries were reported.
