Reno Man Sentenced to 12 Years in Prison For Sex Trafficking

This week a Reno man was sentenced to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to charges related to human and sex trafficking. 

Authorities say 28-year-old Islenn Mayfield was arrested in August 2020 and they linked him to exploitation of his girlfriend that involved prostitution and domestic abuse over two years. 

He later pleaded guilty to one count of coercion with physical force or immediate threat of physical force constituting domestic violence and one count of facilitating sex trafficking of an adult.

On Wednesday, he was sentenced to two consecutive maximum 6-year terms and must serve a minimum of 56 months in prison before he's eligible for parole.
