Reno Police say they arrested nine drivers for being under the influence this past weekend.
Of those nine arrests, police say six were for suspected alcohol and the other three for suspected cannabis.
Thanks to a granted provided by the Nevada Office of Traffic Safety, the Reno Police Department was able to hire four extra officers and a police sergeant to help with this weekend's DUI Enforcement.
Police say future DUI Enforcement Operations will take place throughout the year.
The Reno Police Department would also like to remind the public that although cannabis is legal to consume, it is still illegal to drive under the influence of cannabis.
The Nevada Department of Public Safety’s-Office of Traffic Safety provides funding for law enforcement agencies to participate in these types of operations to reduce traffic deaths and injuries on Nevada roadways.
