Not only did the previously named Aces Ballpark get a recent name change to Greater Nevada Field, there are also a lot of new renovations going on at the venue as well.
The changes include everything from a brand new audio system, new food at the concession stands and two new 34 ft. murals on the brick walls at the field.
Erik Burke is one of the painters on the project and has painted murals all across the county.
"There's something about painting in this respect that really just puts a fingerprint on a place," says Burke.
Eric Edelstein, President of the Aces and Reno 1868, says the improvements at Greater Nevada Field will make for an all-around greater experience.
"I believe in the concept that this is a community center, it's something that we really have to be thoughtful about in involving all different aspects of the community," says Edelstein.
Edelstein also hopes to continue to bring new events to the field on days when there are no games taking place.
"The goal here is to continue to use the venue in as many different ways as we possibly can, so we've had a couple of beer fests in the past and Nitro Circus shows," says Edelstein.
Officials say more than $1.2 million in renovations are coming from team ownership and no tax payer dollars are going into the developments.
