California Highway Patrol Truckee reports all chain controls on I-80 have been lifted.

SR-267 is holding R1 chain controls Truckee to Northstar, and R2 Chain controls Northstar to Kings Beach.
California Highway Patrol Truckee updates chain controls to R2 on I-80 from Truckee to Cisco Grove East and Westbound.Â
Trucks are minimum here.
SR-89 is R2 chain controls from Pickett's Junction to U.S. 50.Â
U.S. 50 holds R2 chain controls from Twin Bridges to Meyers.
R2 chain controls are also required from Bliss State Park to Sugar Pine State Park.Â
R1 chain controls are active from Tahoma to Plumas County Line.Â

According to California Department of Transportation (Caltrans)Â there are chain controls on I-80 over Donner Summit.Â
They also say there are chain controls on U.S. 50 over Echo Summit.Â
Caltrans says Chains are required for Tahoe Basin roadways.
Currently Highway 89 around Emerald Bay is closed.Â
