Investigators released new details about a fatal flight near Empire.

A volunteer firefighter got the alert on his phone, and then it was a race to the scene.

Sparks Firefighters say they extricated people from two separate crashes Friday.

A pilot suffered minor injuries after a small plane crashed onto a snowy mountainside in Elko County on Sunday.

There's no immediate word on what caused the crashes. 

There are no impacts to normal airport operations or roadway traffic at this time.

The NTSB has released a preliminary report on last month's deadly plane crash near North Lake Tahoe. 

One person was rescued after the crash just after 10 a.m. Saturday.
