Two separate crashes temporarily slowed traffic on I-80 east, starting at Vista Blvd. Friday morning. 

The first crash happened near Patrick at 5:10 a.m. while the second crash, near Vista Blvd. happened just before 6:15 a.m. 

Traffic was backed up for miles while emergency crews responded and cleared the crash sites. 

There's no immediate word on what caused the crashes.Â
