An investigation into a former Washoe County employee has been released as the County is asking that a $300,000 lawsuit by that employee be dismissed.

Washoe County cut the ribbon on a new resource center with 80 emergency overflow beds in December, but those beds are now closed, and some of the homeless who were sleeping there regularly now find themselves camping on the street.
The emergency shelter originally opened in May 2021.
The Reno Housing Authority has agreed to lease land and two buildings adjacent to the Cares Campus on 4th Street in Reno to Washoe County for approximately six months. This will allow the county to open a Cold Weather Shelter.
