Wednesday morning the Washoe County Sheriff's Office helped Animal Control rescue a dog trapped inside of a hot car. Deputies say the dog was in the car for nearly an hour outside of the Historic Court House. 

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) says chain controls are beginning to go up over the Sierra on Monday night as a storm rolls through the area.

Caltrans says I-80 has reopened in both directions after inclement weather closed the interstate on Sunday. Chain controls remain in place from Kingvale to Truckee, California.
