The National Weather Service in Reno says all Sierra Nevada passes are requiring chain controls on all vehicles except four-wheel drive with snow tires.
The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) says all vehicles require chain controls except four-wheel drive with snow tires on:
- Mt. Rose Highway from Slide Mountain to Bulls Eye in Nevada
- US-6 in both directions from mile post 3 to mile post 12 in Mineral County
- CA-88 from mile post 47.7 in Amador County to mile post 13.4 in Alpine County
- US-50 from CA-89 to Twin Bridges
- CA-89 from US-50 to CA-88
