The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) says chain controls are beginning to go up over the Sierra on Monday night as a storm rolls through the area.
They said chains are now up for:
- I-80Â from Kingvale to Donner Lake Interchange
- US-50Â from Twin Bridges to Meyers
Caltrans says there's also one-way reversing control on US-50 over Echo Summit due to a medical emergency response. There's no word on when the scene will clear.
