Wildlife managers in seven states in the western U.S. report this past winter was rough on wildlife. California, Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Oregon, Washington and Wyoming report above-normal losses of wildlife in the wake of one of the coldest and snowiest winters in decades.

The Nevada board of Wildlife Commissioners recently set big tame tag quotas for the 2015 hunting season. Due to ongoing drought conditions, an overall reduction was seen for mule deer and California bighorn sheep as well as a reduction in select units for pronghorn antelope.

Nevada Department of Wildlife Game Wardens are seeking the public's assistance with the poaching of a mule deer doe on Broken Arrow Lane in Pleasant Valley, just east of Spring Creek at the base of the Ruby Mountains.
