Reno rent prices started to fall last year, after hitting record levels due largely to the pandemic and inflation in 2021. That trend is expected to continue, albeit lightly, into 2024.

Landlords can now start issuing eviction notices, even if missed payments are because of the pandemic, but because of COVID, many still can't pay rent.

Governor Sisolak's moratorium on evictions is set to end at the end of June. He said he hasn't decided whether to extend it during Phase 2. But with time running out for businesses and people that owe rent, some are concerned.

The Salvation Army just started up a rent and utilities assistance program that may help. Its part of a 265 thousand dollar grant given to both the Reno and Carson City Salvation Army locations, and is meant to help those in need.
