Four people have been arrested for possible ties to the more than $1 billion worth of cocaine seized in recent days in Uruguay.

Southern California authorities say 18 pounds (8 kilograms) of fentanyl has been seized in Orange County - enough of the synthetic opioid to create four million lethal doses.

Detention hearings are scheduled in Philadelphia for six crew members of a Swiss-owned container ship following the seizure of more than 35,000 pounds, or more than 15,800 kilograms, of cocaine.

Federal authorities have upped the amount of cocaine they say they've seized from a ship at the Philadelphia port to more than 35,000 pounds, or 15,876 kilograms.

U.S. health officials are investigating whether electronic cigarettes may trigger seizures in some people who use the nicotine-vaping devices.
