As of 5:30 p.m., no chains are required on the highway, according to Caltrans. 

More than three inches of aging roadway surface will be removed and repaved as a cost-effective way to resurface and preserve the roadway.

Intermittent closures of the ramps located just south of Washoe Lake will take place between 6:30 a.m.-5 p.m. daily, May 23-May 27.
