Wild Island has announced that its new kid zone is officially open.
People of all ages are combatting this heat wave by going to adventure and water parks.
Wild Island held a training for current and future lifeguards, which will help ensure the safety of staff and guests during the summer.

Officials at Wild Island say they are hiring for the 2019 summer season. They said positions available include lifeguards, slide operators, first-aid and more. Wild Island will be holding courses for lifeguard certification as well.
Beginning Tuesday, Wild Island in Sparks will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., weather permitting.
Wild Island Waterpark will open Sunday, May 27th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The park will also be open the same hours on Memorial Day.
Wild Island says their phone system is down, and they are currently unable to take any phone calls. There’s no immediate word on when the issue will be resolved.
The Food Bank of Northern Nevada is looking to fill 25 sessions each month during the summer.
