From Somersett Golf & Country Club:
Somersett Golf & Country Club announced the groundbreaking of a new clubhouse at the Club on Wednesday. The 17,853 square foot facility, designed by local award-winning architect, Michael Thomson of Tectonics Design Group, is slated to open in Spring of 2017.
LPGA Hall of Fame golfer Patty Sheehan was on hand for the ceremony.
“Building a clubhouse to provide our members with the complete country club experience they deserve has been a goal of ours for some time,” said Glen Armstrong, Somersett Golf & Country Club Board President. “This clubhouse will be spectacular and we are thrilled to be breaking ground today.”
The new clubhouse design, a $3.1 million project, will complement the style of the Somersett community and feature multiple dining areas, a bar, golf shop, locker rooms, members only lounge, a multi-use room, meeting room, kitchen, offices as well as an outdoor patio and underground cart and bag storage. Each area of the new clubhouse will offer distinct and different atmospheres, taking advantage of the stunning views of the Sierra.
The architect, Michael Thomson, is responsible for the designs of State Street Plaza, Urban Outfitters Internet fulfillment facility and the WMS Gaming offices in Northern Nevada.
Dennis Banks Construction has been hired as the general contractor, with Marc Folgner leading the project. Other projects Folgner and/or Dennis Banks Construction have been involved with include the Freight House District, Greater Nevada Field, Levi Stadium and Wolf Run Golf Club.
