South Lake Tahoe Police say they have arrested a man who was wanted for violating his parole.
Police say Sunday’s arrest was a result of an incident that occurred on Saturday, July 2, at Motel 6. Police say Sean Francis Wanamaker showed a firearm to a victim during an argument at the motel. The victim fled the scene, and the SLTPD SWAT Team was activated due to the danger posed by a parolee with a firearm.
Police say Wanamaker was not taken into custody at Motel 6 on Saturday. However, a warrant was issued for Wanamaker’s arrest.
Police say later they received a tip from a witness who provided Wanamaker’s location in the area of Stateline Beach. Officers responded to the area and began looking for Wanamaker. They say tried to flee again, by hiding in a nearby bathroom, but officers were able to locate him, and take him into custody.
Wanamaker was booked into the El Dorado County Jail without bail.
