South Lake Tahoe Police say they are looking for witnesses after a naked man tried to steal a car with a woman inside.
Police say 29-year-old Yordanis Cobos-Martinez tried to make eye contact with the 22-year-old victim while she was walking out of a 7-Eleven store on Pioneer Trail on Monday night. When the woman saw him, she ran to her car and tried to lock herself inside, but the man opened the car door, and tried to remove her by pulling on her hair and clothes. They say she resisted, and he got inside the BMW and tried to steal it with her inside.
Police say then some bystanders pulled the suspect out of the car where he ran across to his hotel room.
Cobos-Martinez was arrested for Carjacking and False Imprisonment and booked into the El Dorado County Jail.
