On Saturday, the city of Sparks and two local Rotary groups teamed up to plant 30 trees at Shadow Mountain Park.Â
Around 50 volunteers from the Rotary Club of Sparks and the Sparks Centennial Sunrise Rotary Club planted new Austrian Pine trees while the city of Sparks dug the holes and provided the top soil and drip irrigation. Earlier this year, trees were removed due to a bug infestation.Â
This project is part of the National Rotarians at Work Day (RAW), where Rotary clubs across the nation participate in a project on the last Saturday of April.Â
The Rotary clubs partnered with the Nevada Division of Forestry to purchase the trees.Â
