The World Championship Chili Cook off is going on at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno. And while there are more than 100 chili cookers from around the in that competition this year, there was a bit of an inside competition within the championship competition this year. It was between the local Fire Department.

"Reno Fire, Sparks Fire, Truckee Meadows, The Reno Tahoe Airport Firefighters and the Air National Guard all took part," said Reno Fire Department Division Chief Tim Spencer.

They all cooked up their best firehouse chili and Sparks won.

"We had a couple of guys who put a lot of time and effort into cooking up some great chili here," said Sparks Division Chief, Chris Maples. " It was a bit of a heated competition, but we won! And I'd say that chili could go up against any of the other chili here."

Today the fire departments collected canned food for the Food Bank. Two cans of food got you all you could eat of all of the firehouse chili. Tomorrow the winners of the International Cook off will be announced.
