The Sparks Police Department says a man was arrested for being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm on Wednesday.
Officials said they received a call from a concerned citizen about a man with a gun inside of Walmart on Pyramid Way.
They said the citizen reported the man had a gun and a bandolier of shotgun shells under his jacket.
Officials said officers made contact with Walmart security, who reported the man was inside the store and he was wearing a military style vest with the bandolier. Officers were able to identify that the subject also had a shotgun concealed under the jacket that he was wearing.
They said officers confronted the subject as he left the store. He was identified as Joe Mosley.
The Sparks Police Department said Mosley was allegedly wearing a military style ballistic vest with a bandolier of shotgun shells across his chest. They said officers found a shotgun slung across his back, two handguns, a large hunting style knife and numerous rounds of ammunition.
Officials said Mosley did not have a permit to carry a concealed weapon and that he was a previously convicted felon. They said he was arrested for three counts of carrying a concealed weapon and three counts of prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
