The Sparks Police Department says the westbound lanes of Glendale Avenue at south 15th Street have reopened after a vehicle crash involving a motorcycle in the area early Tuesday morning.
Police say that initial reports said the motorcycle rider, identified as 30-year-old Yuma McGinty of Sparks, was not moving after the crash. However, when officers arrived on scene, authorities say McGinty was conscious and alert.
The police investigation shows that McGinty was heading eastbound on Glendale Avenue when he made a left turn onto 15th Street. Police say a Jeep, driven by 27-year-old Sean McCarry of Reno, was hit by when McGinty failed to yield.
McGinty was transported to Renown Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. McCarry was not injured.
